Shhhh … let’s just listen
the thoughts behind this exercise in CONVERSATIONAL VOYEURISM:
there is an omnipresent undertone of public dialogue in our everyday lives that we often tune out; people chatting to friends, to strangers, to themselves, to animals, to inanimate objects … they are telling stories, sharing experiences, voicing their triumphs and calming their woes
WHAT IF you stopped tuning them out and started listening? could what you hear change your mood, put things into perspective, make you laugh, cause you to smile?
if you eavesdrop tune in (unlike me, i’m sure you have better things to do), I think you’ll find yourself involuntarily passing through hundreds of these little narratives… often comical, occasionally moving, at times sad and at other times worryingly banal but almost always entertaining
for some reason (probably because i really need to put some new music on my iPod) i started listening and recording them in my blackberry … then i began wondering … could the sum of these dialogues eventually equate to some truth about us as people? Perhaps there is something we can take away from all of these exchanges?
OR
perhaps not …. either way, at the very least, let’s just listen ….
thanks for coming by!
i think it’s very cool that you’ve wound up here
